About.
About the artist.
My name's Star and I'm a queer, trans non-binary, plus-size, autistic artist based in Montreal. I am an artist of all kinds and mediums--but I mostly specialise in traditional inked illustrations as well as screen printing.
I'm a completely self taught artist, however, I graduated in 2019 for printing at the Rosemont Technology Centre.
Heavily influenced by vintage shoujo manga from Japan and circa 1960s/70s art, I try to convey a sense of both tranquillity and...an overwhelming feeling into my art work.
~*~*~
Made cover art for a zine in 2013; "Different Perspectives" for Perspectives II High school as part of Writer in the Community, a program run by the Quebec Writer's Federation and The Centre for Literacy. Also wrote two poetry pieces for said zine.
Participated in an art show, Pop Up Art Show, in Montreal during the Mural Arts Festival back in 2017 (pictured above) as a featured artist.
Participated in the Queer Market during the Montreal Pride Festival 2018 as a featured artist.
Participated in the MtlUncovered (now known as UncoveredArt Canada) in November of 2018 as a featured artist.
